Bio

Jolie (Chau Bao Anh) Nguyen is passionate about the interdisciplinary field that combines mathematics and biology, with a strong interest in biomedical applications in health care. She has competed in VEX Robotics at the world championship for two consecutive years, founded the first robotics club at her school and started mentoring an all-girls team. Jolie volunteers to teach coding to students in rural areas, using Scratch as the main programming language. Outside of academics, she enjoys baking, sharing her treats with others and playing piano. Her drive comes from witnessing health-care inequities in her native Vietnam, and she hopes to use computation to create affordable health care.
