Derrick Kwan is a passionate about computer science with a strong interest in algorithm design, machine learning, and real-world problem solving. A two-time ACSL All-Star and top-ranked competitor in the California Informatics Competition, he enjoys using code to make a tangible impact. He built CamsConnects.com, a full-stack, secure carpooling platform that improves student transportation through thoughtful design and privacy-focused features. As a programmer on a competitive robotics team, he integrates autonomous navigation and vision processing into complex systems. Derrick also mentors global learners through Stanford's Code in Place and has contributed over 250 volunteer hours to STEM education and public outreach. He combines technical excellence with a passion for leadership and service.
