Bio
My name is Loris Gliner. I am from France and I currently attend Sevenoaks School in England. I have a strong interest in applied mathematics and physics. During my free time, I like to solve mathematical problems and expand my scientific knowledge. Furthermore, I am currently working on a 3D image reconstruction project as part of my IB diploma and learning C++. Aside from that, I practice for my private pilot license, and I sail at a competitive level. I also enjoy skiing, playing tennis, the piano, and the drums. I am very excited to learn Mathematica, as I feel it is now an essential tool to pursue scientific research or studies.
Project: 3D Reconstruction from Multiple Views
My Demonstration reconstructs 3D objects from multiple 2D images. It includes two modes of reconstructing the object: manual and automatic. In the manual mode, you select the corresponding points manually, and the algorithm reconstructs the selected points. In the automatic mode, the algorithm finds corresponding points itself thanks to the image processing function ImageFeatureTrack, and then reconstructs them in 3D.
The method for the 3D reconstruction uses a vector approach. The input for it consists of two or more images, the position of the cameras used to take the pictures relative to each other, and some information about the camera (such as focal length or image size).
