Bio

Katie Orenstein is a native of New York City, where she's a rising senior at Riverdale Country School. She loves coding—particularly in SQL, Python and JavaScript—graph theory, cyber security, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, improv comedy, Shakespeare, museums and thrift shops, among lots of other things. She co-leads her school's Girls Who Code club, studies classical voice and is a proud NCWIT Aspirations in Technology regional winner two years in a row. She particularly enjoys mentoring beginner computer scientists. Her favorite food is spaghetti and meatballs, and her favorite algorithm is Prim's.
