Philosophy and Strategy
This track is designed for visionaries, entrepreneurs and strategic thinkers who aspire to approach AI and computation beyond the technical horizon. Engage at the forefront of discussions on the ethical, societal and existential implications of AI and advanced computing. Collaborate with a diverse group of peers and Wolfram experts to explore innovative business models, strategic governance and philosophical inquiries.
Schedule OutlineWeek 0: Before the Summer School
- Self-training tools and exercises in using Wolfram Chat Notebooks
- Suggested reading: “What Is ChatGPT Doing … and Why Does It Work?” and “Generative AI Space and the Mental Imagery of Alien Minds”
Week 1: June 23 – June 28, 2024
- Lectures on the role of AI in strategic decision making
- Seminars for case studies on the interplay between technology, strategy and philosophy
- Interactive strategy simulation sessions
- Mentor pairing and strategic project ideation with Stephen Wolfram
Week 2: July 1 – July 5, 2024
- Workshops on employing Wolfram technologies for strategic analysis and philosophical modeling
- In-depth discussions on ethics in AI and computational philosophy
- Collaborative project development time
- Special-topic lectures (previous topics have included AI governance, strategic planning for startups, the future of technology in society, philosophical implications of AI and more)
Week 3: July 8 – July 11, 2024
- Finalization of projects with mentor support
- Preparation of presentations and Wolfram Community posts
- Final presentation
