Project: Structures in Cellular Automata Rule 37R
I am working on a project to look at small-scale structures in the reversible cellular automata rule 37. Small-scale structures include mostly nine-square structures that make up the larger structure that appears in the rule. These are important for analyzing the development of the rule as corresponding to a physical system, as the smaller pieces can interact in ways to create the larger-scale structures.
By identifying the small-scale structures, we can see how they interact in a repeating way to produce larger-scale structures.
This will lead toward identifying observable physical processes that correspond to the behavior exhibited in the rule.
