Bio
Inspired by the language-like phenomena within music, I am concentrating in ambiguity at New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study. Deriving this idea from studies in computational linguistics as well as traditional linguistics, physics, and neuropsychology, I aspire to comprehend the action and reaction of music and the brain as an emotional language. Starting from an individualized project in high school, I have performed various research in these fields, from physical aspects of waves to psychoacoustics, to further understand my passion. Since then I have narrowed my concentration to linguistics, in which I hope to find a proper understanding of the grammar of music. Moreover, I hope to find a universal and perhaps ambiguous language that fabricates the reality we perceive.
Project: Wave Function Enumeration
This project provided research in the interactivity of waveform functions, correlating to the standard arithmetic and mathematical functions provided in Mathematica. By using a neural network predictor function analyzing spectrograms, I was able to obtain an understanding of what waveforms, along with functions, would produce a musically aesthetic tone color and harmonic content.
