Bio

Jean Choi is a rising junior at the Academy for Engineering and Design Technology at the Bergen County Academies in New Jersey. She has been a member of the school's math team since the fourth grade and has received a perfect score on the Canadian Gauss Mathematics Contest and an honorable mention for the AMC10 in middle school. She has been attending the Science Honors Program at Columbia University since her sophomore year and taken online/school classes on Python and Java. Jean has played the piano since kindergarten, has been her middle- and high-school choirs' accompanist and has been a member of a national and international competition-winning Korean traditional dance group. In addition to these hobbies, she enjoys playing in her school orchestra, and won a silver medal and several gold keys in the 2015 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards for art. In school, she is currently involved in mechatronics research, working on a thief-proof mailbox innovation, and plans on starting electronics research and the school's robotics team in her junior year.
