Rami Zakh

Class of 2026

Completed his MSc (cum laude) in (astro)physics at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 1995, and in 2021, after about 25 years in the high-tech industry, he returned to PhD studies in computer science at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Be'er Sheva, which he is due to finish this semester. His thesis is on computational and mathematical studies of the hepatitis virus, with a focus on hepatitis delta (HDV). Coming to Wolfram Science Winter School with a project on the application of inverse cellular automata for studying the minimal model for biological evolution and exploring neutral networks. Other than that, he spends most of his free time watching football/soccer (Notts County/Hapoel Be'er Sheva/River Plate) and cricket (West Indies), listening to whatever music uplifts him and playing poker.
