Bio

I’m Ernesto JeanCarlos Silos Martínez from Mexico City, I’m a student in the master in computer science program at Centro de Investigación en Computación of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional.

My interests are cellular automata, traffic flow, mathematical modeling, and complex systems. I use math and programming to solve problems. My hobbies are reading, graphic design, dancing, and being at home with my family.

Project: Traffic Flow Model with Self-Driving Cars

My summer school project is about developing a model of traffic flow on a multilane expressway, describing the behavior that occurs when there are smart cars mixed with other kind of vehicles, e.g. motorcycles or trucks, considering a parameter with which each kind of car can see more than one car ahead.

Moreover, each lane have a different color for represent cars passing through this. In this direction, I will work to find the necessary density of smart cars to prevent the generation of jams.
