Bio

Sophie’s lifelong fascination with problem-solving began with tinkering with Pascal code and troubleshooting personal computers alongside her engineer father. This early exposure to deductive reasoning and the scientific method laid the foundation for her future career path. Witnessing the impact of critical drug shortages that worsened during the pandemic ignited her passion to find viable solutions in healthcare. Today, as a pediatric pharmacist and preceptor, tech enthusiast, and an affiliate faculty member in interprofessional health at the University of Minnesota, Sophie merges scientific expertise with compassionate care. Her mission: to utilize mathematical principles and operational strategies to tackle drug shortages and ensure essential medications reach those who need them most.
