Project: Investigating Backgrounds and Gliders in Rule 110

Rule 110 is known to support backgrounds other than the standard one. This project will systematically explore these backgrounds using the algorithm from NKS page 958. Once a number of backgrounds have been collected, defects will be added to them to determine to see whether new gliders appear. The goal is to catalog backgrounds, gliders, and (time permitting) glider interactions.
