Project: Patterns of Stephen Wolfram’s Email Exchange

The project will analyze the patterns of Stephen Wolfram’s emails from the past twenty years. The project data contains only the “From”, “To”, and “CC” information for both sent and received emails. All contacts are anonymous, such that names are replaced by discrete identifiers. Email content will not be part of the analysis.

The aim of the project is to discover whether Stephen Wolfram’s email exchange patterns relate to the types of data studied in the physical and social sciences. Any common network patterns will be identified and approximated through Zipf’s law, one of a family of related discrete power law probability distributions.
