Bio
Doron recently received his PhD in theoretical physics from the University of California Santa Barbara (2007). His research area is condensed matter physics. He also has BSc degrees in physics and computer science from Tel Aviv University, Israel. This summer he will be working for Wolfram Research.
Project: Deterministic Iterated Conformal Mappings
Transformations in the complex plane, known as iterated conformed mappings, have recently been used to describe the stochastic growth of clusters. I have implemented a simpler set of iterated mappings using a deterministic rule instead of one based on stochastic choice. The resulting clusters look random and lack the fractal nature of the stochastic case.
