Bio
Merna Youssef is a PhD candidate in theoretical physics at the University of Texas at Austin, where her research focuses on holography, quantum gravity and quantum chaos. Her recent work explores dissipative dynamics in holographic systems and questions related to geometry, information and dissipation in quantum gravity. Outside of research, she enjoys reading literary fiction and philosophy, painting, traveling, and hiking. She once hiked from Les Houches to Le Prarion in the Mont Blanc region, which remains one of her favorite hiking experiences.
