Bio

Leyla Sozen-Kohl holds a BS in mathematics from Caltech and is currently pursuing a graduate degree in mathematics at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at NYU. She has conducted research in a number of areas, with her current research focusing on ergodic theory and number theory, motivated by applications in astrodynamics. Leyla has lived in a number of countries and speaks German, Turkish and Russian. Outside of mathematics, she is passionate about the arts and spent many years pursuing ballet competitively and composing music.
