Bio

Nikesh Mishra is a rising senior at the Davidson Academy in Reno, NV. Since ninth grade, he has conducted research at the University of Nevadas Virtual Reality Laboratory, examining the interactions between perception and biological response, particularly with regards to virtual locomotion. As part of his research, he has learned to program with Python, C#, and Java. Now, as a participant in the 2018 Wolfram High School Summer Research Program, he has learned to use Mathematica. At school, he is a member of the Davidson Academy Science Olympiad team and captain of the Science Bowl team. He also participates in humanities competitions, such as Model United Nations and Academic WorldQuest (his team won 5th at the latters national). Outside of school, he volunteers at a local hospital and is the web master & a board member of an Indian nonprofit that provides scholarships to low-income children.
