Bio

Hannah Kim is a rising junior at Marriotts Ridge High School in Maryland. She is interested in climate change, and as such, she based several science projects on the environment, receiving various awards at the Baltimore Science Fair. She is planning to join the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory ASPIRE program this summer to continue studying mathematical modeling and programming. She is the current director of QuHacks, a local coding competition hosted annually by high school students. In addition to being actively involved in math competitions at school and in her county, Hannah is a coach for her middle school MathCounts team. Hoping to encourage girls to be more involved in STEM, she joined the SHE++ club at school to introduce new programming languages to middle school girls. As an avid french hornist, Hannah played this year with the Maryland All State Orchestra, Peabody Youth Orchestra, and National Honor Orchestra of America. In her free time, she enjoys playing with her cat, Major, and watching TV shows.
