Bio

Raghu Gorla is a rising junior at Plano East Senior High School in Texas. Her academic interests are in math and science, and she enjoys participating in her school's science club, LASER. Recently, she placed third in the Texas Science and Engineering Fair with her biology-based project that can help eradicate antibiotic resistance. Raghu also participates in FBLA and Whiz Quiz. She is a competitive tennis player and an active singer and has been learning classical Indian (Carnatic) music for over ten years. Raghu also plays a prominent role in her community by taking an active part in the National Honor Society and volunteering as a juror and as an attorney at her county's Teen Court. Along with this, Raghu, this year, is starting Women's World, a non-profit being established to empower women with self defense and education in the STEM field. She hopes that by participating in the Wolfram High School Summer Research Program and learning the Wolfram Language, as well as Java and C++, along with using her current programming experience, she will be able to receive a major head start in her engineering and business career and empower many women in her country and around the world.
